Augustus Pugin letters, 1823-1831.

The collection consists of two letters: to Dear Sir, 21 June 1823, confirming that he has sent the requested print, and writing that he and his wife had stopped to call on the recipient and Mrs. Morant, who were in the country; also, to Gentlemen [Messrs. Southgate, Grimston, & Wells], 27 Jan. 1831, expressing displeasure at delays caused by Mr. Taylor in the sale of some of Pugin's prints.

Draughtsman and architect Augustus Charles Pugin elected to flee France during the revolution, settling in London where he secured a position in the architectural firm of John Nash.
